 Bee Sting
No one likes to get stung. But for more than
two million Americans, a bee sting could mean a dangerous
allergic reaction including hives, difficulty breathing or
swallowing, hoarseness, a swollen tongue, dizziness and
fainting.
These bee-sting reactions require immediate medical attention.
If you are allergic to bee sting, ask your doctor to prescribe a
bee sting kit with an epinephrine injection and carry
antihistamine tablets. These will give you more time to get
medical help.
To avoid bee sting, wear shoes when walking in the grass. Watch
for hornet and wasp nests in bushes, trees, outside walls, under
roofs and in the ground. And, be aware that bright colors and
strong scents from foods, perfumes or hair sprays attract
stinging insects.
