Objectives of Get Healthy Alabama! 

Get Healthy Alabama! was founded on a basic principle for improvement – communication.  Communication among the healthcare industry has been limited for years.  Our inability to share our corporate philosophies and strategies has created a system of repetition…both positive and negative!  Alabama has an abundance of people who are very passionate about improving the overall health of a given population without an effective resource to develop and implement solutions.

Therefore, Get Healthy Alabama! has adopted the following basic objectives for improving the overall health of Alabama.  First, Get Healthy Alabama! will create an open and honest forum, for health care leaders and executives, to come together for the purpose of addressing health issues and cooperatively developing solutions.  Second, Get Healthy Alabama! will develop and maintain a forum for all health care entities in the state to share their insights, programs and projects in order to build upon the expertise and experience already within Alabama.

Through proper communication, Get Healthy Alabama! believes we can successfully develop a mindset to implement a more community based health initiative versus a specific population initiative.  Healthcare needs to be addressed at the local level.  Communities need to embrace programs that assist in improving the overall health of everyone not just those employed by a certain employer.
